We
believe that Life is not a destination, but is a journey of assembled choices
and decisions made. We believe that during our early stages of
development, we acquire our life force; a human life force that is relentlessly
perceiving and acclimating itself to its surroundings. We furthermore
believe that it is the conditions of psychological influences received from our
environment during this life-long process, which assembles our experiences as a
cultivating journey, and uniquely develops and shapes the essence of our
ability.
We
believe that education should train one’s character as well as the mind.
We further believe, as did Plato, that the educator should remember that
his/her aim is not to “put into the mind knowledge that was not there
before-though they may do that within limits-but to turn the mind’s eye to the
light, so that it can see for itself its business.” The purpose and
ultimate value of education is not to stick thoughts into the pupils’ head, but
to inspire them to think for themselves.
Our
minds are, as the soil of the earth, which when fertilized will produce a
greater abundance of fruit. Utilizing virtues as an educational nutrient,
prepares the minds of our students for learning. Integrating virtues in
the curriculum as a natural extension of the lesson will encourage classroom
behavioral objectives where the contributions of all students are valued and
environmental distractions minimized.
